Valentine’s Day for You Alone

Happy Valentine’s for those going it alone, for those taking life on without an ‘other’.

Power to those who work, freelance, and build businesses independently.
Those who after the workday still manage to exercise, eat well and buy groceries.
Or those who just open a bottle of wine and a tub of hummus.

Kindness for those who parent solo.
Dogs, cats, children. Your babies.

Strength to those who don’t split the bills.
Those who are the only person keeping the roof on.
Those who know if you don’t succeed nobody else will pay the rent.

Love to those who do each day on their own, without anyone to offer a helping hand, a morning coffee, an evening snuggle.
For those who go to bed exhausted every night but unable to sleep because of the weight of doing it all alone again the next day.

Courage to those who keep it together because of the incredible friends and family they are lucky enough to have holding their hand when they need it most.

Bravery for those who have acknowledged it’s likely to not change.
This is life. This is how it will be. Going it alone.

Health for those who don’t have a partner to take care of them if they ever get sick.
Youthfulness to you so your independence lasts through old age.
